Tailor Email Queries to the right Christmas producer:

 Personalize Your Outreach: Tailor your email queries to the specific preferences and styles of the companies you’re targeting. Avoid generic emails. Show that you’ve researched the company, then mention your title and logline (try to keep the title to 4 words).

Diversify Your Income Streams:

Avoid Attachment to One Script: Don’t spend years perfecting a single script. Get it into the market and start working on new projects. Consider diversifying your work, like creating related products. Karen has a line of adult coloring books as well as a Travel Therapy series available on YouTube – to increase your market presence.

Get Your Script into the Right Christmas Producer

Strategic Targeting: Focus on the 4 or 5 companies that produce the brand of Christmas that align with yours. This could be  any of the following:

• Christmas Royalty (a young woman meets a prince).
• The Christmas Fake-out – (or rent-a-boyfriend).
• The Christmas Switcheroo (two women switch places).
• The home town Christmas (city girl goes back to country home)
• The Magic Christmas (where there’s literal Christmas magic like angels, time travel or Santa intervenes in some way).

99% of your success depends on what you do after your script is written. Ensure you’re getting it into the hands of the right people and building a reputation as a writer others want to work with.
